Ariadne on Naxos
I cut and sewed Zerbinetta's leotard together.
The leotard is red velvet and gold spandex that is lined.
I did the alterations for the leotard as well. I didn't sew the straps, trim, or other little features.
For Ariadne's first look I helped construct the velvet robe.
For Ariadnes robe I placed the flower details on the robe, pinned them on top of stitch witchery, steamed them, and then placed paper under the robe (in between the lining and the velvet).
The robe would be run through an embroidery machine by one of the Drapers and I would start the process all over again for another section.
I mainly helped in the creation of mock ups for this look for Zerbinetta.
I made a mock up of the tulle skirt for the fittings. I cut, gathered, and sewed a mockup so we could have a good idea during the fitting of what the jacket would do on top of the skirt.
Here is Zerbinetta in her full ensemble. Her jacket is plaid with gold trim stitched over to emphasize the lines and is lined.
