About my Senior Collection:
My Senior Collection, titled "Le Paradis de James," was dedicated to my grandfather Gerald James Malotke who passed away before I went to the London College of Fashion (LCF). He had always loved hats and that's one of the reasons I became interested in hat making and decided to study millinery at LCF.
My collection was a merging of the classic French tailoring and my love of punk rock bands. I chose a color scheme of red, black, white, and grey and aimed for finding the perfect combination of textiles and patterns. All in all I ended up with a variety of fabrics: cotton, wool, suede, chiffon, jersey, poly blends, and knits. I focused on plaids, stripes, and houndstooth prints and patterns for my looks. Through my hair & makeup choices and the styling of my models for the fashion show, I was able to take my collection in a more punk rock route.

This look consists of a t-shirt where the bottom is black and white plaid, the top half is black cotton, and the collar and cuffs are grey knit. This is my finale piece. The plaid dress has a visible red zipper down the back and black rib knit around the neck and armholes. The chiffon bottom gets tied around the waist taking it from a floor-length dress to a short dress as seen in this shot. She's also wearing a zipped corset made from the different plaids in my collection and trimmed in grey. Photo Credit: Eric Simon
